Easter in Riverside California is full of family traditions of the Easter bunny, Easter egg hunts, baskets of candy, family gatherings and maybe Easter brunch at the Mission Inn. These special times of the year can bring back childhood memories of the way it used to be.
It wasn't long ago when part of the Easter traditions for most were going to the Easter sunrise service at Mt. Rubidoux and attending your local church Easter service in a new Easter outfit.
Traditions are funny things, if each generation does not experience "why" the tradition was started, it won't take long till the future generations will think it's silly. It has been said what one generation does not experience the next generation will not believe.
Can you imagine having this conversation?
Let's see, where did Easter originate from? Some man was crucified and rose from the dead. Help me, what was his name? Oh, Jesus Christ...the Son of God. Help me again! What did he do? Oh, yes, He came as God's gift to mankind to save them from their sins and keep them from going to hell.
WOW, is this where we're headed?
Well the answer would be different for
every family, some yes, some maybe and some may already be there. But to know for sure just simply ask the ones you gave the Easter eggs and candy to.
Today I think I will call and ask my children who have children with children.
I would personally like to invite you and your family to visit us on Easter Sunday. If you're not in our area I would encourage you to attend a Easter service near you.
Easter 2015, let's make it a point in your family to put the King of Kings and Lord of Lords back into Easter.
